ENHANCED ACCESS

The Enhanced Access services acts an extension of your usual GP services, so you should be able to make the majority of your normal GP appointments through Enhanced Access for an evening or weekend GP appointment. This includes appointments with doctors and other healthcare professionals.

As well as routine GP appointments, are nursing team run a variety of clinics, such as:

• asthma and COPD reviews

• contraception supply and reviews

• diabetic checks and medication reviews

• ear syringing

• HRT reviews

and much more.

To book or manage your appointment, you should contact your GP practice.

If your GP practice is closed, you can call 01253 952950 from 6:30pm to 8pm Monday to Friday, or from 8am to 8pm over the weekend.

Your Enhanced Access appointment does not currently show on your NHS app.

Your appointment will be based inside of Whitegate Health Centre on first floor (lift and ramp access if available) signposted as "Enhanced Access".

You will be sharing the same reception and waiting room as the Urgent Treatment Centre (walk-in centre) within Whitegate Health Centre. Please do not be alarmed by this, as these are separate services and you have a booked appointment with us.

You may be offered an appointment through our Enhanced Access by your GP receptionist to help provide you with a sooner appointment, a more suitable time for you, or a clinic which may not be running at your GP practice.

If you would rather be seen in house by your GP practice, of course you can request to have your appointment with them if you would prefer. Our evening & weekend appointments run within Whitegate Health Centre and not your GP practice.

All details of your consultation will save automatically to your GP health record which can be accessed by your GP practice, as well as by yourself on the NHS app if you have access to this.
